How to Grill Chicken Wings Perfectly
Chicken wings are one of the easiest and most popular foods to cook on the grill. With crispy skin, juicy meat, and smoky BBQ flavor, they are perfect for weekend cookouts.

1. Prepare the Chicken Wings
Pat the wings dry before seasoning. A dry surface helps the skin become crispier while grilling.
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Paprika
- A little cooking oil
2. Use Medium Heat
Preheat the grill to medium heat. Cook the wings over indirect or medium heat first so the inside cooks evenly without burning the skin. Turn them occasionally until golden and cooked through.
3. Add BBQ Sauce Near the End
Brush BBQ sauce onto the wings during the final few minutes of grilling. Adding sweet sauces too early may cause the surface to burn.
4. Check the Temperature
Chicken wings should reach an internal temperature of at least 74°C / 165°F. Check the thickest part with a meat thermometer without touching the bone.
BBQ Tip: For extra crispy wings, move them over direct heat for the final 1–2 minutes and turn frequently.
Enjoy Your BBQ Chicken Wings
With simple seasoning and proper heat control, grilled chicken wings can be crispy outside, juicy inside, and full of smoky flavor. Serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy.
